Worship at 10am Sundays. All are Welcome!
The stories in our Advent season are stories of people on a journey, a journey to meeting a baby born in a humble and lowly setting who would become for us a Savior. Who are these people and what did they need to make this journey? And, how did angels aid in that journey? This is what we will explore each Sunday but with a twist – you’ll hear from three other pastors who will share their perspective on hope, faith, trust over the first three weeks of Advent. I will rejoin you on the 4th Sunday talking about love.
How do we place ourselves into each of these stories? What journey to God’s love fulfilled through the birth of Jesus do we need to take? How does hope, faith, trust and love strengthen and inform our own journeys? Let’s find out together.
Here is the schedule for each Sunday accompanied by a beautiful piece of stained glass created by our own Bob Pickens. We will also celebrate The Lord’s Supper each Sunday in Advent.
Explore the shepherd’s journey to hope. What role does hope play especially by those on the margins to both receive and proclaim hope?
Explore the journeys of our ancestors including Elizabeth and even the Wise Men that were made possible through their own faith. How does choosing the way of faith and steeping ourselves in the love of God as revealed in Jesus Christ, help us to act on the hope that will ultimately fully redeem the brokenness of the world.
Explore the journey of Joseph to a place of trust, a trust in God’s desires that he chose again and again and again. Joseph trusts in his past, his history, his genealogy, and the promises of God…and ultimately Joseph trusts into the future of the promised Messiah.
Explore the journey of Mary who at a time when her faith, hope, and trust is tested, she heads for love. She knows the love of Elizabeth will understand, comfort, anticipate, and she knows the love from God that will change the world.
