Our Love in Action Peace in the World.
Here at Christ Presbyterian Church of the Slate Belt we look broadly at what it means to be a mission-oriented church. We want to develop and inspire outreach efforts that serve our neighbor wherever that neighbor may be. Currently, our journey is taking us in the direction of hospitality, food and pastoral care.
We support local non-profits such as P.U.M.P. Meals on Wheels, and the Hope UCC food pantry. We also support both area school districts by contributing needed items to Slater Family Network and Families First, two organizations that help families in Bangor and Pen Argyl.

We are fortunate to have knitters and crocheters in our congregation who make prayer shawls to provide comfort and assurance of God’s presence in difficult times for anyone in need. Let us know if you or someone in your life needs a prayer shawl.

From January through October on the last Saturday of each month, we provide a delicious free meal for anyone who desires food and fellowship. Scheduled from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, one can dine in or take out. Come join us on the last Saturday of the month!

Whether giving to our ongoing collection for local food pantries in our area or to special collections like Harvest Home, our congregation has been most generous in donating food items to help those who are hungry in our community.
