Worship at 10am Sundays. All are Welcome!
Here at Christ Presbyterian Church of the Slate Belt we look broadly at what it means to be a mission-oriented church. We want to develop and inspire outreach efforts that serve our neighbor wherever that neighbor may be. Currently, our journey is taking us in the direction of hospitality, food and pastoral care.
We are fortunate to have knitters and crocheters in our congregation who make prayer shawls to provide comfort and assurance of God’s presence in difficult times for anyone in need. Let us know if you or someone in your life needs a prayer shawl.
From January through October on the last Saturday of each month, we provide a delicious free meal for anyone who desires food and fellowship. Scheduled from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, one can dine in or take out. Come join us on the last Saturday of the month!
Whether giving to our ongoing collection for local food pantries in our area or to special collections like Harvest Home, our congregation has been most generous in donating food items to help those who are hungry in our community. Watch our Facebook page for more information on what we are collecting at the moment.
In partnership with local non-profits we often take up special collections of supplies that aren’t normally available first aid, sunscreen, socks, underwear and school supplies.
Recovery Revolution Walk 2022: On Saturday, June 4, 2022 we walked on behalf of Recovery Revolution at DeSales University. We thank all the folks in our congregation who walked or donated to help support recovery efforts in our community.
Recovery Revolution provides a level of care assessment by a Master's level clinician to indicate addictions treatment needs. We assist individuals to get into whichever level of care that they meet.We provide addictions treatment outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization (1-18 hours per week), depending on the client's individualized needs. We provide treatment for adolescents and adults. We have overcome some hindrances to adolescent access by partnering with specific schools in Northampton County to provide adolescent treatment during the school day. We offer ancillary services such as an educational support group for families and loved ones of individuals struggling with addiction, free educational seminars, professional education, interventions and brief family consultations.
Part of our mission is to continue to provide life changing treatment to people based on clinical necessity, not financial status. This money will be used to help pay for client's that cannot afford treatment. All of the proceeds raised by Recovery Revolution's fundraising efforts go towards client's care that cannot afford treatment.Recovery Revolution will not turn individuals away based solely on inability to pay.In keeping with our mission, Recovery Revolution opened a Recovery Center called "A Clean Slate" directly across the street.A Clean Slate provides a safe place to come for referral, computer and office assistance, programs responsive to the needs of the community and sober events.
